How to prepare for your photoshoot

Days before the shoot, starting drinking plenty of water and avoid greasy foods. Start thinking about your wardrobe and send them off to be dry cleaned/pressed. And the night before, make sure you get your beauty sleep.

What to wear
For corporate portraiture and headshots, wear what you would normally wear to work, or clothing that best represents and your position. I encourage you to bring several wardrobe options and we can decide on the spot. Don't be seasonal. Textures and layers are great, but keep patterns simple. We don't want anything to distract viewers from the main focus of the photo, your face. The rule is: if you're not comfortable in it, don't wear it.  Men and woman, try and avoid white shirts, as they can appear washed out. I love blues, especially navy. Please iron, steam, press or dry clean your wardrobe.

Jewelry
Try to keep it minimal on the jewelry. Studs or small earrings work as well as simple necklaces. Anything hanging or chunky will usually draw too much attention.

Hair and makeup for women
If you hired one of my makeup artists, you’re in great hands. If not, you can come with makeup as you normally wear it. You can always bring your kit and adjust in the studio. If you have any questions, you can reach out to her directly. Come with your hair as if it were your best hair day.

Facial hair for men
Come with whatever level of facial hair growth that best reflects how you would want to present yourself. If you have some growth, feel free to bring whatever grooming products you’ll need to make any on-the-spot adjustments. You could come with stubble and shave in the studio or at the location we’re shooting.
